This is a portrait of my beautiful mother when she was 22 years old.  A portrait where she had a professional make-over and got to wear her favorite kimono.  A portrait that was unknowingly treasured by my late grandmother her entire life. It crossed the Pacific Ocean to return to my mother one week when I was visiting them in Toronto, Canada.  We opened this portrait together, my mother and I and shared tears, stories and laughter.  A truly special moment that reminded me why I love to do what I do.  This portrait survived and was found after so many years, one of the many reasons why I pride myself on being a print photographer.  Although my mother doesn't like to take photos, we are so thankful for this portrait.  I now, have this portrait and will as my grandmother did, continue to treasure this portrait for the rest of my life...
